The Throne Room

These two sculptural candlesticks representing Spring and Autumn appear to form a set with the monumental clock decorated with a rustic scene. All three items bear the Savoy coat of arms in a leaf cartouche. The very striking and sumptuous set may have been commissioned or in any case purchased when the chamber was completely refurbished to create the Throne Room in 1847–48.
